Annie’s Got a Gun

Annie’s Got a Gun

This work, also known as “Rebellion”, is big but not real big (24″x36″). Annie is my 12 year old daughter that would like to join the Air Force when she gets older. So, I took three elements that pertained to her. While at the “Air Show” with her hair blowing in the wind, she was able to hold a gun. The planes were in the reflection of her sunglasses and I took cartoon hands and placed them in the background as a reminder that she is a child.

This piece also has a lot to do with the War in Iraq and Afganastan along with other wars. Many of the children that are used to fight ignorant battles are her age. We forget that from time to time. So I did this as a reminder.
